CSRA College Night

College night was an event that took place at James Brown Arena. According to SRS, “The CSRA College Night is a cooperative effort among Department of Energy (DOE), Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), SRP Federal Credit Union, and IHeartRadio, along with local businesses and industry”. Colleges from around the state attended including Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, and USC to name a few. There were also several colleges from other states including Notre Dame.

Many students from North Augusta attended. One senior said that “Getting to talk to the advisors helped me narrow my down schools that I will apply to.” College night offered many opportunities to talk to admission reps to answer questions.

Alongside students from North Augusta, counselors also attended. One of them, Laura Lusk, said that “The CSRA college night gives students a chance to learn about colleges from around the country as well as career opportunities with the military and SRS.”

However, College night did not just provide council and opportunities. It also provided a way to earn scholarships. Specifically, twelve $1,000 scholarships that could be used to fund students’ education.

College night is a fantastic opportunity for all seniors as well others who are looking at attending college or going straight into the job-field.
