Are you currently taking French, or have you taken it and want to learn more about the culture? Then, French club is the club for you! French club officially started last Thursday on September the 24th and will continue to tentatively meet once a month on Thursday’s. French club is open to all North Augusta High School students, including those who have not taken French or students who have taken French on their own. Ms. Herve urges any current French or past French student to take French club as an extension of French class and culture during Covid-19. She states that “French club enables us to watch a movie or experience French culture which we otherwise would not be able to do in class." Given time restraints regarding in-person learning French club offers the opportunity to both expound upon French class, and yet also gather a greater appreciation for French culture.
Traditionally, the North Augusta High School French Club has explored French culture through watching French movies and cooking French meals. Last year, the French club participated in a variety of off-campus activities. These included things such as hosting a toy drive for Augusta university children's hospital during the months leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, French club volunteered at the Aiken chapter of the ASPCA animal shelter. The French club ultimately aims to explore the French culture and language with all willing students at North Augusta High School.
If this sounds like the club for you, then contact Ms. Herve about the next meeting! Spots are limited, so email correspondence in important.
