On April 26, 2022, the National Honor Society Induction took place for rising juniors as well as rising seniors. This ceremony is to commemorate new members that are entering into National Honor Society.
Mrs. Coyle, who is in charge of the National Honor Society at North Augusta High School says, “The four pillars of NHS are scholarship, character, leadership, and service.” These pillars represent each of the qualities that the National Honor Society members represent, in order to be inducted into the club.
National Honor Society is a great way to get involved in service projects as well as helping with college applications. Mrs. Coyle says, “this is not an organization where you can apply for membership, you must be invited to complete a selection form.”
Students wanting to enter must first be invited after meeting the academic requirements to be in National Honor Society. These academic requirements include a 4.0 GPA and good studious behavior inside the classrooms.
After completing the selection forms that are required, the student forms will then be put in front of a committee to ensure that they meet the three other qualifications as well including leadership, community, and academics.
National Honor Society is one of the most prestigious clubs offered at North Augusta High School, and all the students that are inducted meet all the high requirements and keep up the good, studious work all year long.
Pictured here is the table NHS uses in their induction ceremonies to hold the four candles of Leadership, Character, Service, and Scholarship. At the end of the table sits the new members book where new inductees sign to forever be apart of North Augusta NHS history!
