Opening Week for the Augusta Green Jackets

The Green Jackets are back and better than ever. The Augusta Green Jackets are a Single-A Minor League baseball team affiliated with the Atlanta Braves. This affiliation leads to speculation of the rise in attendance for this upcoming season.

Trinity Avery, a devoted Green Jackets fan and North Augusta High School student, says “the upcoming season should draw in a lot more fans considering the Braves won the 2021 [Major League] World Series.”

This 2022 season the Green Jackets have 120 games, 60 of which will be at their home stadium at SRP Park, in North Augusta, while the other 60 will be on the road in various places.

They travel to places like Fredericksburg, VA and Charleston, SC. The Green Jackets will be battling it out against other Single-A teams such as the RiverDogs, the Fireflies, and the Woodpeckers.

There are lots of things to enjoy about the local baseball team. Avery says, “to me, the best part about the games is just being with the people you care about, and the atmosphere created by the fans and the music.”

The Green Jackets create a family-friendly atmosphere that is enjoyable for all ages. Ticket prices are relatively inexpensive and allow for a great experience for the most excited of baseball fans and even those just going for the food!

The Green Jackets are sure to be a summertime hit for the citizens of North Augusta. The next home game for the Augusta Green Jackets will be Tuesday, May 10, where they face division rivals, the Columbia Fireflies.
