For years, the Miss NASH pageant has been an annual tradition for North Augusta High School.
Miss NASH is an opportunity for any girl at North Augusta. While Miss NASH is a competitive event, the main goal is for every girl participating to have fun and learn a valuable lesson while doing it.
Kinsley Muns, a sophomore at NAHS, says, “I think to win Miss NASH is not about being the prettiest girl on stage or having the prettiest dress. In my opinion, the girl crowned at the end of the night is the girl who was chosen to best represent her class. The winner expresses herself to the best of her ability on and off stage.”
“Feeling confident is key to winning Miss NASH and having the attitude of a winner whether you get crowned or not," says Muns.
While many girls have participated every year that they have gone to NAHS, some choose to wait until their senior year to compete. When asked why she decided to participate in the pageant, AnnElise Baxley, senior at NAHS, said, “Well, I’ve never done it before. But I figured since it was senior year it was finally time to step out of my comfort zone and try something new.”
Baxley says, “Some people prepare more than others. I know for myself; I am having to practice walking in heels because that is something that I don’t have a lot of experience with. It takes a lot of planning as well. Such as planning your outfits, hair, tan, nails, and so much more. You also have to prepare for the interview round in order to sound your best when asked questions.”
The Miss NASH pageant allows young girls to express themselves and to create memories with friends and fellow contestants as they prepare, as well as compete, in the pageant.

Absolutely! I’m part of the PTA putting on this event. We would have loved your help getting the word out about the pageant so more girls would sign up. Maybe next year someone on staff can interview the pageant director. Thanks for helping put a positive light on this timeless tradition at North Augusta!
How can girls get involved this year? When is the pageant taking place? Where? Do you need to buy tickets to come watch? Where are they sold?
