North Augusta High School is full of student athletes, and staying in shape is very crucial to the success of their play. Training is important to everyone, but with spring break getting closer, athletes are getting ready to kick back and enjoy their break.
Upon talking to a large number of athletes ranging from tennis to soccer, everyone seems to be going on vacation and taking this much-needed time off to give their bodies a break. With how much time and effort they put into their sport daily, it is well-deserved.
With this, a few people will still be training a bit even on vacation.
Junior student on the NAHS soccer team, Ryan Williams, plans to do some core work and run a few times over her break.
While senior Gillian Gregory has a more ambitious plan to stay in shape. She says that she is going to “attempt to run a mile a day to continue to build up my speed and stamina.” These ladies are committed to making sure they are the best they can be for their teammates.
There are also a few athletes that play travel ball that will be continuing their sport. For instance, Audri Bates, a senior on her way to playing D1 softball plans to practice and play games with her team over the course of the break.
North Augusta athletes are committed to balancing their time between athletics and rest during their spring break, and furthermore are prepared to come back into the spring season with tremendous drive to succeed.
