North Augusta Senior, Austin Harrell, Plays in North-South All Star Game

After a couple of nail-biting games for North Augusta High School basketball teams, the seasons have officially come to an end. Both girls and boys made it to the playoffs, with the girls team reaching the state championship game, held at USC-Aiken.

However, for senior Austin Harrell, the playoffs weren’t quite the end of his final high school season.

Harrell played in the South Carolina Basketball Association’s annual North-South game. This game is a time where the best players from all over the state compete and showcase their talents on the court.

Harrell states, “The North-South All Star game is a game with all the best seniors in the state.”

This certainly was true for Harrell as he helped lead North Augusta’s team to the playoffs this past season.

Harrell was honored to play in this game because,” I got selected for it by vote through the coaches on the staff.”

Throughout the season, and in this star-filled showcase, Harrell was coached by his father: Anthony Harrell.

The North Augusta girl's basketball coach, Al Young, was also involved in this tournament as he coached the girls' team for the North-South game.

Harrell states, “the best part was meeting all the players and coaches there.”

Harrell went on to score 9 points for team South to wrap up his final season as a Yellow Jacket basketball player.
