Senior Night with NAHS Soccer

The class of 2021 seniors have definitely had it hard this year. Things have been completely different the past two school years for seniors, more than ever before. Luckily, seniors who participate in sports were still able to receive a senior night and get the recognition they deserve after all the years of work they have put in.

Most recently the NAHS soccer teams have been able to celebrate their seniors. Senior, Lily Butler said “it was so sweet what the team did for Mary and I.” Butler and Mary Strauss are two seniors who have worked hard for so long and have watched their older teammates grow up and be recognized for their hard work, and it was finally their turn. Butler says that being a part of the soccer team has helped her make amazing friendships that will last forever. Butler was called out and walked out by her mom and dad as they honored all of her many accomplishments here at North Augusta. Butler will be attending Wofford University as a part of the track team in the fall. Butler says that playing sports at North Augusta has helped her learn time management and how to be able to stick to her decisions. She says these are skills that will stick with her throughout college and help her in her future career. Butler also played volleyball and ran track here at North Augusta and has done a great job in her sports and academics.

As a school the times where we look back and honor the students who have attended North Augusta and made a lasting impact on our school is so important. Senior night is one of the many opportunities we have as a school to celebrate the student athletes who worked so hard to get to graduation and for some continue their academics and sports in college.
