As the school year continues in North Augusta, so do the sports. But like everything else, seasons must come to an end. This applies to the football season, which ended recently.
Despite all the challenges, the team finished their season in the second round of the playoffs. Senior Austin Harrell reminisces his last season in the Jacket’s nest, saying, “I will miss being in the locker room, eating, working out and everything with my teammates, and I’ll miss being under the lights in front of the crowd every Friday night the most, there was nothing like it.”
Harrell comments on the difference in this year’s season compared to the previous, saying, “This year was a lot different than last because we got a full season, and we all got to be around each other and do more.”
The team was able to play in all the region and non-regional games this season, but Harrell says one in particular sticks out in his mind. “The highlight of the season was when we beat Bluffton in the first round of the playoffs, that was our most complete game and big win to move on.”
Harrell will continue his senior year playing basketball for North Augusta High School.
